NRAO-SKA meeting about future CASA collaboration

US/Eastern
NRAO, Charlottesville

NRAO, Charlottesville

520 Edgemont Road Charlottesville, VA 22903-2475
Description

A workshop to investigate to opportunities for collaboration between the CASA software development community and the SKA SDP software development element of the SKA project.

Outputs (assuming we decide collaboration is warranted):

  • Identification of areas of architectural miss-match between CASA and SKA SDP.
  • Identification of technical areas of future collaboration.
  • Identification of next steps - ideally a small project that might benefit both parties and validate understandings.
  • Statement of governance model we would prefer to adopt.

Videoconferencing details

The Edgemont Road Room 230 location has a dual HD cameras integrated into the room projector and 3 video screens to facilitate information sharing, and we propose using our Polycom RMX Video hub to allow for video, phone (if needed) and content (slides) integration for remote participants.

This will require each of the remote participants to have access to standard H-323 or SIP compatible video resource, or a phone/tablet/computer with appropriate software loaded. We recommend the RealPresence app by Polycom. The H-323 Video endpoint is 192.33.117.12##6516. The dial-in audio number is +1-434-817-6283.

As with any multi-site event of this significance, we will host a dry-run session beforehand to ensure the technology is cooperating.
