Getting to Edinburgh

Apart from road, the main ways of arriving in Edinburgh are at the airport (to the west) or at Waverley rail station (central).

Getting to IfA

By Taxi:

   Taxis will bring you direct to Blackford Hill for about £25 (from/to the airport) or £8 (from/to cente of town or railway station).

By Bus:

    Lothian Bus service 41 runs to The University of Edinburgh King's building, get down at After Observatory Road stop and walk 0.4 miles (10 minutes) to the Institute for Astronomy. Bus fare is £1.60, and the exact fare is needed - they don't give change!
