Airport to/from city centre
Catania Airport is only few kilometres south of the city. There is a bus connecting the airport to city centre, the "Alibus". The ticket cost is 4 €. More information and the bus path can be found here.
Taxi
Taxi service is managed by the "Radio Taxi Catania" company (tel. +39 095330966). There is a flat rate from/to airport to/from the city centre of 20 €. The airport to/from observatory rate is 26 €.
How to reach the observatory
The most convenient way to get to the Observatory from the city centre is using the bus BRT1 (stop "Policlinico"). Once you get down from the bus follow this map:
You can buy bus tickets on most bars, tobacco vendors and newsstand in the city center. You can ask for a 90 minute bus ticket (if they don't speak english you can say: "Un biglietto per il BRT, per favore", here how to pronounce it https://translate.google.com/?uact=5&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hl=it&client=tw-ob#view=home&op=translate&sl=it&tl=en&text=un%20biglietto%20per%20il%20brt%2C%20per%20favore).
