Activity 1: CERN Visit (approx. 16.00-19.00)

This is an opportunity to join in a visit to CERN (the European Laboratory for Particle Physics), home to the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) where physicists and engineers are probing fundamental physics and the nature of our Universe. In a small group, you will visit with a guide the ATLAS visitor center and the Synchroton .

The visit will take place from 17.00-18.30 but you will need to be at CERN for 16.30. Additional logistical details will be given after registration to the activity.

More information about CERN can be found here: https://home.cern/

Activity 2 : Boat cruise on Leman lake with dinner on board (approx. 18.30-22.20)

This activity will take place on the Savoie Boat, which is part of the Belle Epoque Fleet, the only fleet of its type in the world. You will do a boat cruise from Geneva to Yvoire and back to Geneva with dinner on board.

Please note that there is a contribution (charge) of 50CHF for this activity to be paid in cash at the registration desk on the first day of our conference, on Monday 2 September 2024. You will get a conference receipt for this activity.

More information about the Savoie Boat can be found here: https://www.cgn.ch/en/savoie.html

Participants will depart at 19.00 from Geneva Jardin Anglais and will return by 22.20. For logistical purposes we ask participants to be at the Jardin Anglais stop for 18.30 so they can be given tickets, etc. The boat will not wait and will leave at 19.00 sharp. Additional logistical details will be given after registration to the activity.
