Workshop Goals

To share an understanding of SRCNet

To develop our technical roadmap for SRCNet v0.1

To strengthen the relationships within SRCNet and explore further opportunities for collaboration.

Background

The SKA Regional Centre (SRC) development effort has been ongoing as an international collaboration for almost 2 years. During this period we have learnt and accomplished a lot, with a maturing agile software development process, many trained and skilled professionals, and a considerable amount of working software and technologies.

We are now preparing for our first SRCNet release - version 0.1 (SRCNet v0.1). Targeted to be delivered at the end of 2024, this preliminary version of SRCNet will allow users to find and analyse data across several international sites.

We are organising this workshop to share the understanding of the progress made so far and to discuss the path forward as we transition into a more operational phase of activity. These discussions will include which sites are able to commit appropriate resources into SRCNet v0.1 and how we form a group to support deployment and ongoing operations.

We would like to discuss these with national SRC representatives and technical leaders.

Participants

Given the cost and short timeframe to organise travel: please consult your SRCSC / other national representative(s) before committing to attend in person.

We hope to welcome in-person in Shanghai:

Technical Leaders

SRC Steering Committee members

Other National Representatives

SRCNet Program Team

Local Chinese User Community

All members of the SRCNet ART and associated groups are welcome to attend virtually.

Format

The workshop will be conducted in a hybrid format, both online (SKAO Zoom) and in person.

Virtual sessions will be repreated across time zones.

Session recordings will be made available.

Hosts

This workshop is being hosted and organised by the Shanghai Astronomical Observatory (SHAO) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), with the support of the SKA Observatory (SKAO) and SRCNet Program Team.
